Friday night Jeff and I went to a coworker’s “Welcome Back to LA” party in Silverlake. It was great meeting some of the people in different departments (seriously, sometimes I’m so confined to my little workplace I don’t get a chance to see what else is going on in the HUGE office!). One of the best parts of the night was meeting the neighbor, Christine Hahn. I got the opportunity to pour through her beautiful portfolio and WOW. stunning! I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of her work popping up soon! Check out a little bit of her work:

We are in love with Audrey Kawasaki’s dreamy art (and I wouldn’t be surprised if you fall in love, too!).
Here is a bit of info on Audrey’s work:
The themes in Audrey Kawasaki’s work are contradictions within themselves. Her work is both innocent and erotic. Each subject is attractive yet disturbing. Audrey’s precise technical style is at once influenced by both manga comics and Art Nouveau. Her sharp graphic imagery is combined with the natural grain of the wood panels she paints on, bringing an unexpected warmth to enigmatic subject matter.
The figures she paints are seductive and contain an air of melancholy. They exist in their own sensually esoteric realm, yet at the same time present a sense of accessibility that draws the observer to them. These mysterious young women captivate with the direct stare of their bedroom eyes.

Edit: The beautiful art deco inspiration was created by Weddingistas. I will be posting a few more boards in the next few days so check back for more eye candy! :)

my friend is getting married next May and I couldn’t help but bug her about the details. (What can I say.. I’m wedding obsessed.) So as soon as I saw a picture of her dress and the killer miu miu shoes she’d been eyeing I immediately got excited and offered to make an inspiration board. Taking que from her pink and black color selection, I wanted to create something elegant with a bit of glitz and glamour. Pink can be such a soft/feminine color but with the added kick of some black it really dresses up the entire look.
colors: pale pink and black
Style: elegant, glamour
Design ideas: feather and pearl details, big black bows, pink and black stationary, printed paper flowers (i’m not normally drawn to paper flowers but there’s something cool about paper flowers MADE of printed paper – a mix of industrial and feminine).

1- paper flower, bird, stationary, anemone bouquet
2- photobooth sign, pearl necklaces, bridesmaid dress, black rose
3- coconut cupcake, candies, table setting, flower bomb perfume
4- calligraphy, feather arrangement, miu miu shoes
ok, is it Fall yet?? you can never quite tell with this LA weather (it’s almost thanksgiving!). if it were up to me, i’d be in my comfortable sandals all year round. Sadly, my sandals streak has reached its end – especially with the new construction going on by my workplace, I’m forced to revert to covered shoes. So what’s next? for sure I will not be up in heels while I’m running around up and down the stairs all day.. no, no.. what I’m really dreaming of are motorcycle boots! here are some note worthy finds!

Here is a vintage-inspired engagement shoot I just came across on one of my FAV blogs, Style Me Pretty. I just love the soft pink palette mixed with warm hues of peach and champagne! Really the perfect set of pinks if you asked me. ;) and how fitting that she’s wearing a vintage-style rose cut ring! It really is oh-so-pretty in pink!

I have been in love with Tadahiro’s work ever since I visited the Three Trees Make a Forest exhibit at Gallery Nucleus.
Tadahiro Uesugi:
was born in 1966 in Miyazaki on Kyuushuu Island, Japan. He studied fashion illustration at the Tokyo Art School’s “Setsu Mode Seminar”. At 28, he worked as an assistant for Manga artist Jiro Taniguchi and made his debut as an illustrator on the magazine “Magazine House”. He has since created elegant illustrations with a jazzy and classical sensibility for prestigious clients in Europe, Japan and the US. His work can be seen on magazine covers, Books and a variety of other commercial products and advertising campaigns.
Here are some of his work (including my personal favorites!)

these make me wanna get inked. they’re not too in-your-face.. but clearly not shy either. they almost help accent her body.. then again, she is a megamodel. ;)
